IBK is committed to keeping any private information about you confidential. This statement explains why we collect data from you, how it is used and who it is shared with. It is our commitment to you in regards to the information you share with us.

Why do we ask for data from you and how is it used?

There must be a ‘lawful basis’ for collecting data, as stated in the GDPR guidelines. We collect data for the following reasons:

  • As part of our contractual obligations to you, there is data we need in order to provide the service you have asked for. This is to ensure that we can fulfil our duties to you and offer you the support you need.
  • We sometimes have legal obligations to provide information (such as to HMRC), it is essential we have the correct data in order to be compliant

You must give consent to collecting this data and our use as outlined above. You have the right from May 2018 to request to see the data and to have it deleted from our records. While ever we provide a service to you, we will need to maintain records but these are always maintained securely and not shared with third parties (with the exception of essential account monitoring information being sent to SCC)

Feedback about our service which we collect annually may be posted to our website/Facebook page. This is always anonymised.

Who do we share data with?

We only share data with relevant parties where it is necessary in order for us to provide the service you have requested. This may include:

  • The local authority who may have funded the service you receive.
  • HMRC (if you are an employer)
  • Other agencies where we may pay invoices on your behalf.

We will not pass on your data for marketing purposes to any 3rd party and we can provide information to all the parties we share your information with individually upon request.

What are your rights?

  • You have a right to access any information we have relating to you
  • You have a right to request information is rectified if you do not feel it is accurate
  • You have the right to object if you do not feel the information we are requesting is relevant
  • If you feel we have used or shared any of your information incorrectly you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). Their telephone number is 0303 123 1113

Our Commitment

  • We will always aim to make sure we explain why we collect data in a way that is transparent and fair.
  • We will always respond to any questions or queries about your data quickly and clearly.
  • We will always make sure we only collect the data we need from you and no more, only information relevant to the support you receive and the service we provide will be collected.
  • We will only share your data with parties who it is necessary to do so in order to provide the service you have requested.
